I wrote an ambitious book called Making Sense of Brief Lives. It tries to answer big philosophical questions across logic, language, science, religion, and ethics. It makes careful arguments and maps out academic debates but also keeps clear sight of the real human concerns behind those debates. This means being as concise and practical as possible. It means reaching real answers and stating them plainly. And it means speaking not just to fellow philosophy nerds but to anybody fighting to understand and navigate this strange world we find ourselves in. That’s what I’ve tried to do. Let me know whether you think I pulled it off.
You can read praise for the book here and can buy it from independent sellers or big evil ones.
I’m working on a second book that will tackle some core questions of political philosophy and look at current realities of political polarization, democratic decline, aspiring authoritarians, the climate grave we keep digging deeper, and our prospects for avoiding or enduring the worst.
Meanwhile you can find more on all this here and over at the Smokestack. Good luck out there.
